Three Levels of Listening

January 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm HST

Certified Defense Intelligence Agency Coach Michael Spencer presents:

Three Levels of Listening

Are you a good listener?

In meetings, do you talk over others to get your point across?

In a conversation, when someone mentions a problem, do you immediately try to solve it?

Have you been surprised an hour-long conversation “flew by” in what felt like 10 minutes?

LTG Ashley stated in his DIA Director’s Intent: “We listen first. Great leaders are great listeners. Knowledge and wisdom are gained not by talking, but by listening—so talk less and listen more.”

Most people don’t listen at a very deep level…but listening is a skill you can learn and develop through training. People will open up to you as you listen with more understanding and empathy. Whether you are an individual contributor, supervisor, spouse, parent, or just want better relationships in/out of work–join me for a fast-paced hour to learn about and practice the Three Levels of Listening.
