Ann Greenlee is the Director, US Department of Labor, Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS) for Hawaii and Guam. VETS serves as the focal point for veterans employment. VETS administers federal employment grants to states, homeless veteran reintegration grants and veteran workforce investment grants to non-profit and for profit agencies, and the Transition Assistance Program for active duty service members transitioning from military to civilian life. VETS is the responsible federal agency for the Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and the Veterans Employment Opportunities Act (VEOA). VETS mission includes employer outreach to encourage the hiring of veterans and their spouses.
Ms. Greenlee is a retired brigadier general with over 32 years of military service. Her last assignment was as the Assistant Adjutant General, Air, Headquarters, Hawaii National Guard. She ensured the readiness of forces in support of federal missions and executed homeland defense, defense support to civilian authorities, and other domestic emergency missions within the State of Hawaii. General Greenlee has been awarded the Legion of Merit, as well the Air Force Meritorious Service, Commendation and Achievement Medals. She was also awarded the Hawaii Medal of Merit for outstanding service to the people of Hawaii.
Ann is active in her community. She founded Hawaii Hires Heroes, a partnership between businesses, government agencies, and military organizations whose goal is to increase job opportunities for Hawaii’s veterans and service members. She is the Vice Chairman of the Hawaii Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. She is the Vice Chair of the Hawaii Workforce Development Council Military and Veteran Subcommittee and she serves on the Governor’s Advisory Board on Veterans’ Services, and the Women Veterans Task Force.
Ann received her Bachelor’s Degree of Education with High Distinction from Arizona State University and her Master’s Degree of Education from George Washington University. She is also a distinguished graduate of the AF Air War College & the Dept. of Defense Joint Forces Staff College.
