• HPFEB Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Brian Mikel

    In 15 years of civil service, Brian Mikel advanced through the ranks to serve as the Hawaii Area Director of the U.S. Department of Labor – OFCCP (since 2012). Prior to finding his home in Honolulu, Brian excelled as a Senior Compliance Officer in the Los Angeles District Office and as a Bilingual Investigator with the U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Chicago.

    While fulfilling the Department of Labor’s mission in the Pacific Island Communities, Brian has worked with countless employers, federal/state/city partners and nonprofit organizations to advance equal employment opportunity and protect workers from employment discrimination.  He has volunteered on the Honolulu-Pacific Federal Executive Board LEAD Diversity & Inclusion Working Group.  In addition, he is a trained Mediator and graduate of the Daniel K. Inouye APCSS Asia-Pacific Orientation Course.

    A native of Tucson, Arizona, Brian graduated with honors from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations.
